Deputies discovered human skeletal remains Tuesday evening near Mud Creek in the Town of Victor, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff David Cirencione said his office received a call around 8 p.m. on May 27 reporting possible remains in the area of McMahon Road. Responding deputies confirmed the remains were human.
Investigators and evidence technicians processed the scene from that night through the following morning. The remains have since been transferred to the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office for identification.
The investigation is ongoing, and officials say additional information will be released once the remains are identified.
