Gardeners across the Southern Tier can stock up on plants and gear during the Hector Plant Sale this Saturday. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hector Fairgrounds.
Hosted by the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Schuyler County, the sale will feature flowers, herbs, vegetables, garden décor, and raffle prizes. CCE will also sell handmade items to benefit their demonstration garden, while Hector Lions Club offers BBQ meals on-site.
Master Gardeners will be on hand to offer expert advice, and other booths will include youth fiber arts demonstrations and energy-saving tips from Smart Energy Choices. Organizers say the event offers something for green thumbs of every age and experience level.
