A Syracuse woman’s viral post about a disturbing Uber ride has prompted a police investigation, according to CNY Central. She and four friends were allegedly taken to the wrong location, where the driver threatened to leave them stranded, raising concerns of a potential sex trafficking attempt.

The group eventually reached their destination, but the experience triggered alarm. Syracuse police say a report was filed and the Criminal Investigations Division is looking into the incident. So far, no evidence of criminal activity or a broader threat has been found.

Officials encourage rideshare users to stay alert and prioritize safety, especially when traveling in unfamiliar areas or late at night.
