The Town of Torrey’s annual Memorial Day Service will take place Monday, May 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the Gazebo on the corner of Main Street and Cornelia Street in Dresden.
Yates County Supreme Court Justice Jason Cook will deliver the keynote address. Liesl Leonard will lead the Penn Yan Middle School Band during the ceremony. Don Chambers will read the Roll of Honor.
Following the service, a parade will proceed to the cemetery. There, William Updike of American Legion Post 1571 will offer a short address. J. Jeffrey Stempien and Philip Bracht will perform taps.
After the cemetery program, attendees are invited to a chicken barbecue—take-out or eat-in—at the Dresden United Methodist Church on Cornelia Street. Organizers encourage guests to bring lawn chairs.
