Wayne-Finger Lakes high school sports: May 20 scoreboard

The regular season concluded on Tuesday for Wayne-Finger Lakes high school baseball and softball.

In baseball, Cullen Herron’s one-hit gem powered Mynderse past Lyons, while Palmyra-Macedon picked up its 14th win of the season. On the softball diamond, Bloomfield’s Ashlyn Wright dazzled on senior night, tossing a five-inning perfect game with 13 strikeouts. In boys lacrosse, Geneva and Penn Yan both exploded offensively.

Cullen Herron allowed just one hit and struck out three over four innings to lead the Blue Devils in a five-inning win over the Lions. Byron Catalano had a standout day at the plate with two singles, a double, a triple, two runs scored, and two RBI. Alan Plummer added a single, a triple, and drove in four runs, while Matt Bogart collected a single, a double, and one RBI. Lyons was led by Braden Bookmiller, who doubled, scored a run, and drove in one.

Ashlyn Wright threw a perfect game with 13 strikeouts over five innings to lead the Bombers on senior night. Wright also contributed at the plate with two hits and three runs scored. Fellow senior Brianna Leitten and freshman Addison Falsone also tallied two hits and scored twice each. CeCe Falsone scored twice as Bloomfield piled up 12 hits in a dominant all-around performance.
