30 new citizens welcomed at Ithaca courthouse

Thirty immigrants from 22 countries became U.S. citizens during a joyful naturalization ceremony in Ithaca on Thursday, according to WENY News. Family and friends packed the Tompkins County Courthouse to witness the oath-taking and celebrate the milestone.

Supreme Court Justice Mark G. Masler administered the oath, praising the contributions immigrants bring to America’s identity.

Many new citizens, including Gabriella Ampemdarko, expressed gratitude and pride in officially joining the American community after years of effort. Local leaders emphasized the importance of diversity and unity in what makes the country thrive.
