A Steuben County grand jury indicted a Pulteney woman Wednesday on a second-degree murder charge in the stabbing death of a 53-year-old man, according to the Corning Leader. Annika M. Szathmary, 25, is accused of fatally stabbing William S. Pryll in his home on May 3.
Authorities say Szathmary called 911 to report a dead body, and deputies found Pryll bleeding on the kitchen floor. He later died at Strong Memorial Hospital. Investigators say Szathmary confessed to stabbing Pryll in the back and heart with intent to kill.
Szathmary remains in custody without bail and could face 25 years to life in prison if convicted. She will be arraigned in Steuben County Court at a later date.
