The Cayuga Community College Childcare Center will remain open under new leadership after avoiding a license revocation, The Citizen reports. The state had considered pulling the license following an October inspection prompted by a complaint.
While the center worked with state officials to address safety issues, its previous director, Colette TenEyck, departed after a separate arrest. Lisa Fredette, a longtime staff member, was appointed director in December and pledged to strengthen communication and care standards.
With a 132-child capacity, the center is one of the area’s largest providers. Officials say staff training and new safety tools are now in place to ensure continued quality care.
