A Seneca Falls man was taken into custody Friday after allegedly threatening police and assaulting an officer during two separate incidents, according to the Seneca Falls Police Department.
Carlin T. Seneca, 41, was arrested on May 9 at 12:09 p.m. on two active arrest warrants issued by the Town of Seneca Falls Court. The charges stem from incidents on April 16 and April 29.
Police say the first incident involved a threatening phone call to the department. On April 16, Seneca allegedly called police and threatened physical harm if officers did not comply with his demands. He was charged with one count of making a terroristic threat, a class D felony.
The second encounter occurred less than two weeks later. According to the department, on April 29, Seneca physically obstructed a patrol car while an officer was carrying out routine duties. He then allegedly brandished a lacrosse stick and launched a ball through the vehicle’s open window, striking the officer in the head.
Seneca now faces multiple charges related to that altercation, including unlawful imprisonment in the second degree, obstructing governmental administration in the second degree, menacing in both the second and third degrees, and criminal possession of a weapon—all class A misdemeanors. He also faces charges of harassment in the first and second degrees, disorderly conduct, and additional violations.
Following his arrest, Seneca was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility to await arraignment. The officer involved was not injured, police said.
