A Penn Yan woman is facing multiple charges after two separate incidents in the village this week, according to the Penn Yan Police Department.
Officers arrested Michelle L. Downs, 50, of Penn Yan for robbery in the third degree and harassment in the second degree after responding to a reported fight on Main Street. Police said Downs forcibly stole property from another village resident after shoving the victim to the ground. Downs was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Yates County Jail to await centralized arraignment.
This arrest came just one day after Downs was charged in an unrelated case. In that earlier incident, police said she was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child and harassment in the second degree after allegedly yelling at a village resident and their child and making threats against them. Downs was processed at the police department and issued an appearance ticket.
