A co-ed slow pitch softball tournament in Lyons promises a day of friendly competition and heartfelt giving, as teams from across the region take the field to support Golisano Children’s Hospital.
The event, hosted by the Advanced Lyons Leadership Class, will take place on Sunday, May 18 at the Lyons Varsity Softball Field. All proceeds from the tournament will go directly toward purchasing toys for young patients at the hospital.

Registration opens at 8 a.m., with games beginning at 9 a.m. Teams must register in advance and pay the $200 entry fee by Monday, May 12. Individual sign-ups will not be accepted. As part of the entry, each team will receive a sheet pizza and two dozen wings, with concessions and event t-shirts also available for purchase during the day.
Open to adults 18 and older, the tournament is a dry event held on school grounds, with strict rules prohibiting alcohol, drugs, smoking, and vaping. Violations will lead to team disqualification. Liability waivers will be signed on the day of the tournament, and minors attending must be accompanied by an adult.
Registration is only complete upon receipt of payment, which can be mailed or dropped off at the Lyons High School Main Office. Checks should be made payable to the Lyons Leadership Class.
The tournament not only offers a chance to compete, but also an opportunity to rally around a cause that brings comfort to children in need. For more information, interested teams can contact event organizer Baylei Reed by email at [email protected] or by phone at 315-727-4558.
