New York’s Department of Transportation revealed plans Wednesday for a $31 million project to upgrade a 2.67-mile stretch of Auburn’s Arterial and part of Grant Avenue. The multi-year effort includes repaving, drainage repairs, updated traffic signals, and pedestrian improvements.
Construction bids will open in early 2026, with work running through 2027. Sidewalks, curbs, and crosswalks will be revamped to meet ADA standards, and hazardous trees will be removed to enhance safety.
The federally funded project will avoid major detours, with only temporary lane closures and some nighttime work expected.
