Two plead guilty in Auburn Wegmans theft case

Two Syracuse residents have pleaded guilty to stealing over $1,000 worth of merchandise from the Auburn Wegmans last fall, according to the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office.

Maurice Gaston, 19, and Jasmine Felton, 32, each admitted to fourth-degree grand larceny in connection to the October theft. Felton was sentenced in March to six months in jail and five years’ probation, while Gaston faces up to three years when sentenced in July.

A third suspect remains at large as officials vow to crack down on retail theft in the region.
