A Seneca County man was arrested Tuesday following a domestic incident involving a firearm and a minor.

Jason W. Ector, 42, of 2760 Hayts Corners Road in Ovid, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, according to Sheriff Tim Thompson.

Investigators allege Ector used a firearm to destroy property in the presence of a child during the incident. He was taken into custody at the Seneca County Correctional Facility and released with an appearance ticket.

Ector is scheduled to appear in Ovid Town Court at a later date. The Sheriff’s Office stated it is coordinating with Seneca County Child Protective Services as part of the ongoing investigation.
