Victory man caused damage inside home during dispute

Deputies in Cayuga County arrested a 28-year-old Victory man accused of damaging property inside a family member’s home. John R. Burns was charged with criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor.

Sheriff Brian Schenck announced the arrest on April 29. Deputies responded to a residence in the Town of Victory on April 22 around 5:00 p.m. after receiving a report of a subject causing damage inside the home.

Following an investigation, authorities determined that Burns had broken property belonging to a family member. He was taken into custody, transported to the Public Safety Building for processing, and arraigned at CAP Court the following morning.

Burns is scheduled to appear in the Town of Victory Court at a later date.
