Two people remain hospitalized following a serious two-vehicle crash in Southport on Friday, according to WETM. Deputies say a 34-year-old man and 40-year-old woman were airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital after their sedan, traveling at high speed, crossed the center line and collided with a truck.
Firefighters and ambulance crews responded to the crash on South Broadway, finding both vehicles heavily damaged with occupants trapped inside. The truck’s 59-year-old driver and 60-year-old passenger were treated and later released from the hospital.
Officials report the sedan’s driver remains in the ICU, while his passenger is in stable condition. The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the crash, with charges against the sedan’s driver pending.
