Unionized Department of Veterans Affairs employees will rally today in Canandaigua to protest federal actions they say are harming veterans’ access to care, according to AFGE Local 3306. The union cites ongoing disrespect and policy attacks by former President Trump and Elon Musk as threats to federal workers.
Nearly a third of VA employees are veterans themselves, and organizers warn their ability to serve fellow veterans is being compromised. Supporters, civil servants, and lawmakers are expected to join in solidarity.
The rally runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Atwater Park, at the corner of Main Street and West Avenue.
