Canandaigua City Council has 60 days to decide whether to approve the proposed Waterchase Planned Unit Development, which would bring 85 new homes to the city’s north end, according to the Finger Lakes Times.

The public hearing wrapped Monday, with council members agreeing the application meets zoning requirements and merits further discussion. The project by Canandaigua Homes LLC would rezone a 27-acre site to allow three- to four-bedroom houses between 1,700 and 2,300 square feet.

Deliberations will continue at May council meetings as officials weigh the proposal’s impact on housing, infrastructure, and neighborhood character.
