The City of Canandaigua will hold its first Local Planning Committee (LPC) meeting on Tuesday, May 6, to kick off a $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) funded by New York State.
The session will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Hurley Building Conference Room, 205 Saltonstall Street. It is open to the public, with time set aside for public comment following the committee’s working session.
The meeting will include an overview of the DRI program, an outline of the planning process, and initial discussions on community engagement. The LPC will also begin developing a vision for Canandaigua’s downtown future.
As the primary steering body for the DRI, the LPC will meet regularly to shape project ideas, set priorities, and recommend which initiatives to fund. The goal is to support transformational projects that energize the city’s core.
Canandaigua was selected as a $10 million winner in the state’s DRI program, which aims to foster economic development and vibrant downtown areas across New York.
