A Delta Air Lines flight was evacuated Monday at Orlando International Airport after an engine caught fire just before takeoff, according to the FAA. Flight 1213 was pushing back from the gate when flames were spotted in the tailpipe, prompting an emergency slide evacuation.
The Airbus A330, bound for Atlanta, carried 294 people including crew. No injuries were reported, and Delta apologized, emphasizing safety as its top priority. Videos from the scene showed smoke and flames as passengers exited onto the tarmac.
An FAA investigation is underway, and Delta maintenance crews are inspecting the aircraft. A replacement plane was provided to complete the journey.
