The Seneca County Board of Supervisors will hold its next round of committee meetings on Tuesday at 6 p.m. where they will consider a series of proposed contracts, budget amendments, and policy changes spanning public works, safety, human resources, and government operations.
Among the key items up for discussion is a resolution to amend the 2024 county budget. The proposed changes affect several special districts, including adjustments in revenues and expenditures for Water District, Sewer Districts #1, #3, and #4, according to the Ways and Means Committee agenda.
The Public Works Committee will consider multiple infrastructure-related resolutions, including:
- An agreement with Air Temp for the $47,733 replacement of make-up air units at the Law Enforcement Center.
- A $18,806.25 annual service contract with Vertiv for support of the county’s AC/DC capacitor systems.
- A three-year water treatment service agreement with Water Wise, Inc., totaling $12,979.20 annually.
- The purchase of a 2025 International road tractor from Regional International Corp. for $193,993.01, which would rescind a prior resolution passed in 2024.
- Bid awards for hot mix asphalt concrete and stone, with the Highway Superintendent recommending awarding to all bidders based on availability and delivery costs.
- A $19,754 amendment to the county’s contract with Labella Associates for reengineering work related to the Emergency Watershed Project (CR 150).
In the Public Safety and Criminal Justice Committee, members will consider authorizing the County Sheriff to attend the National Law Enforcement Partner Conference in Orlando, Florida, in early June. All expenses for the trip are covered externally. The committee will also review the acceptance of two $110,600 regional hazardous materials grants for fiscal years 2021 and 2022, which support Seneca County’s collaboration with Ontario, Wayne, and Yates Counties.
The Human Resources and Government Operations Committee is scheduled to review several personnel refill requests across departments, including the Department of Human Services, Highway Department, Office for the Aging, and the Sheriff’s Office. The committee will also consider:
- Acceptance of a $2,478.29 grant from the William G. Pomeroy Foundation for a historical marker.
- A revision to the county’s probationary period policy.
- An extension of the consulting agreement with Pracademic Partners, LLC through the end of 2025.
Additionally, the committee will introduce two proposed local laws. One updates and replaces the existing Seneca County Hotel or Motel Occupancy Tax to reflect changes in state law and expand allowable uses of tax revenue. The second sets a salary stipend for the County Board Chairman during a vacancy in the County Manager position. Both proposals will proceed to public hearing following committee action.
The full Board of Supervisors is expected to review committee recommendations at a future regular meeting.
