Haven’s Open House to Spotlight Trauma-Focused Services for Children and Families

Families in Cayuga County are invited to a carnival-themed evening of fun, games, and support at The Haven’s Open House on May 7.

The event will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the fourth floor of 17 East Genesee Street in Auburn. The Haven, a trauma-focused program operated by Cayuga Counseling Services, provides therapeutic services to children and families ages 3 to 18.

The open house will feature carnival games, face painting, snacks, and raffle prizes. Community members are encouraged to bring perishable food or hygiene items to receive raffle tickets—one item equals one entry. Raffles include prizes from Mackenzie-Childs, The Play Space, and more.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the staff, learn more about The Haven’s services, and explore the space where children receive trauma-informed care.

The event aims to connect families with essential resources in a welcoming environment. Organizers hope the evening helps increase awareness of available mental health services for youth and fosters stronger ties between the community and support professionals.
