Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a working house fire in Moravia early Monday morning.
According to Cayuga/Seneca Fire Wire, emergency crews were dispatched after reports of a fire under a porch that had extended into the side of a residence. Moravia command requested a second alarm and activated the tanker box as conditions intensified.
Engines and tankers from several nearby departments, including Genoa, Scipio, Groton, Fleming, and Owasco, responded to assist. Crews from New Hope and Springport were also dispatched.
Despite the early challenges, firefighters were able to knock down the fire quickly.
No injuries or damage estimates were reported. The cause of the fire has not been released.
