Drug possession charges follow stop in Farmington

Deputies arrested a Penn Yan man early Saturday morning after finding Fentanyl during a traffic stop in Farmington.

Eric J. Ronchi, 34, was taken into custody on Saturday at 1:06 a.m. on State Route 332. The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office said Ronchi was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after deputies discovered a quantity of Fentanyl in his possession.

Ronchi was also charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation for driving with a suspended license.

Deputies issued Ronchi an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to answer the charges in Farmington Town Court at a later date.

The investigation was conducted by Deputy Middlebrook.
