An Auburn man has been found guilty of felony drug possession following a jury trial in Cayuga County Court. Terrance Hines, 45, was convicted of possessing cocaine with intent to sell, despite his claims the charges were retaliation for a federal lawsuit his wife filed against the county.
Jurors reviewed video, photos, and eyewitness testimony during the five-day trial. Authorities found cocaine, packaging materials, a scale, and cutting agents during a 2022 search of Hines’ home. The judge dismissed arguments that the prosecution was politically motivated.
Hines faces up to 12 years in prison and will be sentenced on June 26.
