A rollover crash on State Route 21 in Manchester left two occupants unharmed Friday afternoon.
The driver, 30-year-old Christopher Nievesrivera, was operating a Hyundai Tucson when the vehicle rolled onto its side near Merrick Avenue. According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Nievesrivera was able to exit the vehicle on his own. Deputies said his son was also inside the car and was helped out by bystanders. The child was examined by Finger Lakes Ambulance and released at the scene.
Deputies determined that Nievesrivera had been traveling northbound when he unsafely moved from his lane and struck an RG&E utility pole. He was cited for multiple violations, including moving from lane unsafely, not wearing a seat belt, and not having a proper child restraint in the vehicle.
Field sobriety tests showed no signs of intoxication, deputies said. Manchester Fire Department shut down the roadway while JC Auto removed the vehicle from the scene.
