A Montour Falls resident will spend nearly a decade in state prison after being convicted on serious drug charges.
April M. Ball, 46, was sentenced to eight years behind bars and five years of parole after a Schuyler County jury found her guilty of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, a class A-II felony.
Ball’s conviction followed an unannounced home visit from the Schuyler County Probation Department. During the inspection, officers discovered more than two ounces of methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia, smoking devices, digital scales, plastic baggies, butane torches, and cash.
The sentencing was announced Thursday in a statement from the Schuyler County District Attorney’s Office.
