A Lyons man is facing multiple charges following a reported burglary at a property under renovation on Montezuma Street.

Merle E. Adams, 50, was arrested Saturday afternoon after deputies responded to a call about a burglary in progress in the Town of Lyons, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies allege that Adams was seen stealing a window from inside the apartment building. He was later found at a friend’s home with the stolen property in his possession.

Adams has been charged with burglary in the second degree, criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, and petit larceny. He was transported to the Wayne County CAP (Centralized Arraignment Part) and will appear in the Town of Lyons court to answer the charges.
