Canandaigua man arrested after alleged armed robbery at gas station

A Canandaigua man is facing a felony charge after police say he used a dangerous instrument to demand gas from a local business.

Anthony J. McDonald, 35, was arrested on April 10 and charged with first-degree robbery following the incident on South Main Street, according to the City of Canandaigua Police Department.


Police allege McDonald entered the business and displayed a dangerous instrument while demanding fuel from an employee. Details regarding the specific type of weapon were not disclosed.

Following his arrest, McDonald was processed and taken to CAP arraignment at the Ontario County Jail. He was remanded on $10,000 bail.
