After her UN ambassador nomination was withdrawn, U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik is back in House Republican leadership as chairwoman of House Republican Leadership, according to a GOP press release.
The new position focuses on strategy and communication and grants Stefanik a broad leadership portfolio. She had previously served as House GOP Conference chair until President Trump tapped her for a diplomatic post last fall. That nomination was later pulled in March, with Trump citing the party’s razor-thin House majority.
Now reinstated to her prior committees, Stefanik says she’s ready to advance Trump’s America First priorities as Republicans gear up for key legislative battles.
