Tompkins County is set to launch the Transportation Scout app on April 17, offering residents a streamlined way to plan trips across local transit systems. According to the Ithaca Journal, the app supports multiple travel modes, real-time data, and includes access to a daily support call center.
Backed by an $820,000 federal grant, the app is a collaboration between GO ITHACA, TCAT, and other local agencies. Officials aim to boost public transit use and reduce reliance on single-occupancy vehicles. Launch events and community trainings will follow countywide.
While TCAT prefers its own MyStop app for live bus updates, officials confirmed Scout will pull accurate TCAT data. The app is part of a broader mobility vision plan to make transportation more inclusive and efficient.
