Joann is urging customers to steer clear of fraudulent websites posing as the crafting chain’s official outlet as it continues its nationwide liquidation.
The company, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and began closing its 800 stores in March, disabled all online purchases on March 5. Despite this, Joann has received multiple reports of fake websites advertising clearance deals under its name.
“Please shop in-store only,” the company said in a social media post. “Joann.com is available to browse our catalog and find your closest store, but there is no online shopping available during our liquidation. Beware of fraudulent websites!”
Joann emphasized that it has no authorized online shopping platforms during the wind-down and warned customers not to enter payment information on sites claiming otherwise.
The company encouraged shoppers to report suspicious websites by contacting its customer service department at [email protected] and submitting reports to the Federal Trade Commission at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
The going-out-of-business sale began in March and is expected to last several weeks, with stores offering significant discounts to clear inventory.
