Dansville is clearing space for a long-awaited downtown parking lot, expected to ease congestion and support local businesses, according to the Hornell Evening Tribune.
The former Dansville Fitness Club was demolished to make room for roughly 60 new spaces behind Main Street shops. Village officials say the lot will help meet growing demand, especially on weekends when spots are scarce near the gymnastics center and movie theater.
Some spaces will serve nearby apartments, but most will benefit over a dozen businesses. Village crews will handle construction, keeping costs low. Leaders hope to finish by late spring.
