Wolcott man faces reckless endangerment charge

  • Staff Report

A Wolcott man wanted on a reckless endangerment charge was arrested during a routine traffic stop in the Town of Butler, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies took 46-year-old Daniel J. Meyer into custody on Thursday afternoon after pulling over a vehicle on Route 89. Law enforcement officials say they were aware Meyer was the subject of an active arrest warrant issued by a judge in connection to an earlier investigation.

The warrant charges Meyer with second-degree reckless endangerment. Authorities did not release details about the original incident leading to the charge. Following the stop, Meyer was transported to the Wayne County Jail for arraignment through the Centralized Arraignment Program.

He is expected to appear in Wolcott Town Court at a later date to face the charge.
