Tops Friendly Markets will shut down its DeWitt location later this month due to ongoing struggles, the company announced Friday, according to WSYR-TV.
The store at 4410 E. Genesee Street will close April 25, with operations shifting to nearby Tops stores in Fayetteville, Manlius, and Syracuse. All employees have been offered positions at those locations. The Tops Xpress gas station in DeWitt will remain open.
Company officials said the decision followed unsuccessful attempts to revitalize the store but reaffirmed their commitment to Central New York communities.
