The Village of Clyde has been selected to join the Empire State Trail Town program, according to WROC. The initiative, led by Parks & Trails New York, aims to help canal-side communities like Clyde, Canajoharie, and Cayuga County enhance recreation and tourism.
Clyde’s section of the Empire State Trail will pass through downtown and Lauraville Landing Park, connecting visitors with local food and attractions. The program supports towns in becoming trail-friendly hubs by improving amenities and encouraging economic growth through outdoor tourism.
Public workshops will gather community input, with final recommendations shaping long-term development plans for each participating area.
