YMCA eyes permanent home as Bath programs grow

The Tri-County YMCA is expanding its presence in Bath, building on successful after-school and childcare programs at Bath Central School District, according to the Corning Leader. Leaders say strong community interest may soon justify a dedicated facility.

Local officials and residents support the idea, with over 100 attendees at a March meeting voicing favor for a permanent YMCA site. The YMCA hopes to mirror its Dansville model—starting small, then securing a fitness center as demand rises.

Plans include outdoor sports, senior programs, and group classes. For now, the YMCA is working closely with the school district while exploring temporary and long-term space options.
