A once-ordinary courtyard at Schuyler Hospital has become a serene retreat, thanks to local donors, according to The Odessa File. The newly renovated garden space now offers patients, families, and staff a peaceful place to rest and reflect, especially those from the Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility.
Donations flowed in through the Schuyler Health Foundation, with key support from Philly DeSarno, Ken Wilson, and his sister Marilyn Cross. A memorial bench honors their parents, Stewart and Ruth Wilson, who had a passion for gardening.
The garden is part of a larger Centralus Health initiative to improve patient experiences. Other recent projects include sculpture restorations, cancer patient comfort drives, and a planned salon for long-term care residents.
