Ithaca’s Common Council has approved the $1.37 million purchase of the former Bowl-O-Drome property and two nearby parcels as a possible future site for a public safety facility, according to The Ithaca Voice.
While no final use is decided, the land could house a new police station to replace the city’s outdated Clinton Street location.
City officials emphasized that the acquisition does not lock in plans or funding for construction. Thirteen locations were considered before this alternative emerged as a viable option using leftover funds from a previous $4 million allocation.
