Canandaigua man arrested on drug charges after traffic stop in Farmington

A routine traffic stop early Sunday morning led to a felony drug arrest on State Route 332 in Farmington.

Peter Bonacci, 53, of Canandaigua, was taken into custody by Ontario County deputies shortly before 1 a.m. on March 30. Authorities say the stop began as a vehicle and traffic law violation but escalated after deputies found Bonacci in possession of cocaine and fentanyl.

Deputies charged him with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fifth and seventh degrees. He was transported to the Ontario County Jail, where he remains in custody awaiting arraignment.
