A Canandaigua woman is facing a Driving While Intoxicated charge after deputies linked her to a hit-and-run crash in Hopewell.

Cassandra A. Ross, 39, was arrested early Saturday morning after Wayne County deputies located her vehicle in the Village of Newark. The arrest followed a tip from New York State Police in Ontario County, who were investigating the earlier collision.

Deputies say Ross was driving through Newark when they stopped her and found she was intoxicated. She was taken to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, where a breath test showed a blood alcohol content of 0.17%.

Ross was processed and released with traffic tickets. She is scheduled to appear in Newark Village Court on April 23 at 10 a.m.
