  • Staff Report

An Ithaca woman was arrested after allegedly stealing merchandise from Walmart in Seneca Falls, despite being barred from the store.

The Town of Seneca Falls Police Department took Makayla J. Walker-Squires, 28, into custody on March 24. Authorities say she was observed placing items into her purse and attempting to leave the store without paying. She also allegedly filled a shopping cart with merchandise and tried to exit without rendering payment before being confronted by staff.

Walker-Squires had previously been ordered not to enter the store but ignored the restriction. She was charged with third-degree burglary, a class D felony, as well as petit larceny and attempted petit larceny, both class A misdemeanors. She was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to the Town of Seneca Falls court at a later date.
