A Rochester man pleaded guilty to first-degree assault in Seneca County Court on Monday and was sentenced to 10 ½ years in prison for a violent stabbing in December 2023.
Jacolby Wallace, 36, admitted to attacking a woman inside a home on Fall Street in Seneca Falls on December 10, 2023. Police found the victim with multiple stab wounds, but she survived and has since recovered. Authorities arrested Wallace on December 31 on a sealed indictment warrant.
Wallace was originally charged with three violent felonies: first-degree burglary, second-degree attempted murder, and first-degree assault. He was held without bail after his arrest and remained in custody while also serving a sentence on an unrelated charge in Genesee County.
He was set to stand trial on April 7, but investigators discovered he had attempted to bribe the victim into skipping court. The revelation led to a secondary investigation and a plea deal that incorporated the additional charges. Wallace admitted his guilt in open court and accepted the agreement.
He is currently incarcerated and is scheduled for sentencing on May 28 at 3:30 p.m. before Judge Barry Porsch.
