Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a large barn fire Sunday on Emerick Road near Route 176 in the Town of Ira.
According to the Cayuga/Seneca Fire Wire the fire drew a wide response from area departments including Ira, Cato, Jordan, Cody, Plainville, North West RIT, Cimvac, and Jordan Ambulance. The first unit from Ira arrived on scene shortly after dispatch, with additional tankers and engines quickly joining the effort.
Crews spent hours at the site working to contain the blaze, extinguish flames, and knock down hot spots to prevent flare-ups. According to updates, firefighting units remained at the scene into the evening to ensure the fire was fully out.
Law enforcement was also on site to assist as the situation unfolded. No injuries or causes have been reported at this time.
