Two structures destroyed after Rose fire: One person airlifted to Strong Hospital (video)

A Friday evening fire in the Town of Rose left one man injured and destroyed a mobile camper and storage barn, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a structure fire at 4791 State Route 414 around 6:30 p.m. on March 21. When first responders arrived, they found smoke and active flames coming from the camper and nearby storage barn. The fire was contained to those two structures and was extinguished shortly after.


One male sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the fire and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. Authorities have not yet released his name.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Multiple departments responded to the scene, including the Rose, North Rose, Wallington, and Alton fire departments, along with Wayne County EMS.
