A Lyons man is facing charges after sheriff’s deputies say he stole multiple Bic lighters from a local gas station in February.

Joseph Gonzalez, 26, of Montezuma Street in the Town of Lyons, was arrested following an investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office into a larceny at the Kwik Fill convenience store. Authorities allege that Gonzalez took several lighters without paying, prompting a criminal probe by road patrol and criminal investigations deputies.

Gonzalez was processed at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and charged with one count of petit larceny. He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court on April 1 at 8:30 a.m. to answer the charge.
