A man accused of striking a store employee with his vehicle while fleeing a robbery in Skaneateles has been arrested.

Robert E. Booth, 55, of Syracuse, was taken into custody on March 20 after a weeks-long investigation into a robbery that occurred at Tops in the village of Skaneateles on February 19. According to the Skaneateles Police Department, Booth allegedly stole approximately $535 worth of merchandise from the store. When confronted, he fled the scene and hit a store employee with his vehicle.

Police say the employee was not injured in the incident. Booth was later located in the city of Syracuse by the New York State Police. Authorities had issued an arrest warrant following the Skaneateles Police Department’s investigation.

Booth has been charged with first-degree robbery. He was arraigned in CAP Court and is being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center pending a preliminary hearing.
