A Hornell man has been arrested and charged with felony assault following an alleged attack with a baseball bat, according to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Jim Allard reported that deputies arrested 22-year-old Joel V. Burdett of Bald Hill Road, Hornell, on March 17 after investigating an incident in which a person was reportedly assaulted with a weapon. Authorities allege that Burdett intentionally caused injury to another individual using a baseball bat in the Town of Hornellsville.
Burdett was charged with second-degree assault, a class D felony. He was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court and subsequently released.
