The fifth-ranked William Smith lacrosse team was defeated by seventh-ranked Salisbury 10-6 in a non-conference contest at Sea Gull Stadium this afternoon. With the loss, the Herons dropped to 3-1 overall this season.
Sophomore attacker Mia Falco led the Herons, recording her third consecutive hat trick. Maura Smeader played all 60 minutes in goal and made 11 saves. Six Herons had a caused turnover and senior Nikki Pioand sophomore Janey Sypeck had three ground balls each. Junior Natalie Daniels had five draw controls.
Julianna Ott had four goals to lead the way for the Sea Gulls (4-2). Liz Haney had two assists. Paige Ellis played all 60 minutes in goal and made 10 saves. Ott matched Daniels with a game-high five draw controls.
