A Galen man has been arrested following an investigation into a bad check and larceny case at a convenience store in Savannah, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies took Joseph A. Smith, 51, into custody after Rose’s Quick Stop filed a complaint regarding two incidents on January 26 and January 28. Authorities say Smith issued a bad check and committed petit larceny at the store.
Smith was located and arrested on Lopez Lane in Savannah. He was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing and later released with an appearance ticket. Smith is scheduled to appear in Savannah Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
